Do I need technical skills?
No. We walk you through every step. If you can use Telegram, you can do this. The whole setup takes about 5 minutes.
How is a VELA AI assistant different from ChatGPT or other AI?
ChatGPT and other LLMs are separate apps you have to go and open yourself. Your VELA AI assistant lives where you already spend your time, in Telegram. It connects to Google Workspace, reminds you about meetings, knows exchange rates and much more, all in one chat, with no app switching.
Does my AI assistant work when my computer is off?
Yes, 24/7. Your AI assistant runs on our servers and replies any time, at night, on weekends, even while you're on vacation.
Who can see my conversations with the AI assistant, and where does my data go?
We don't read your conversations. Your data is encrypted, and neither other users nor any third party can access it. One thing that matters: VELA runs on Claude by Anthropic, not on third-party or Chinese models. Your data is never used to train AI models and isn't shared with third parties.
Why doesn't the AI assistant use the most powerful AI models?
The AI assistant's tasks don't need them. Weather, exchange rates, reminders, email, web search, reading photos and documents and so on: what matters here is speed and consistency of replies, not solving olympiad-level problems. Claude Haiku and Sonnet by Anthropic handle all of it, and on everyday requests you won't feel a difference. Second, and this is the main part: this is exactly why VELA has a free Basic plan. Top-tier models cost several times more per message. With them there would be no free plan at all, or a couple of messages a day instead of 15. On the Pro plan complex requests go to Sonnet and simple ones to Haiku, which is why the subscription is just $12.
Does the AI assistant support multiple languages?
Yes, and it's one of the key features. By default (Auto mode) the AI assistant replies in the language you write to it in, any language in the world: write in English, it answers in English. Write in Chinese, it answers in Chinese. In the dashboard on the Assistant page you can lock the language: pick Russian or English, and the AI assistant will reply only in that language no matter what you write in (handy for practicing a language, for example).
